Mary's Strawberry Jelly Bars


1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
2 egg yolks


2 jars preserves or jam
1 cup chopped nuts

Sift flour and sugar. Cut in butter. Add vanilla and egg yolks. Press dough in jelly roll pan. Spread with jelly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Bake in low 300 oven for 1 hour.

  1. I just made this one. So good! I used a 16 x 10 cookie sheet. I wouldn't use anything larger than that.

    I also used about 2/3 of a 32 oz jar of strawberry jam.
